Each hand spun skein is priced differently, due to thickness, weight and yardage. It takes time and expertise to spin up yarn. And although it is therapeutic for me, I need to charge approx. 17 cents a yard.
The Ombre is my first 3ply yarn. The rest are 2 ply. The yarns are made from Alpaca fiber from animals that we've raised and made into roving so that I can spin it. To add color I had it blended with Merino top that was already dyed. This recent batch is mostly Amber, Daisy and Casper. Amber was mixed 3 different ways to make 3 roving colors. Casper was mixed with black Bamboo to create the solid slate grey yarn.

I am excited to create these new yarns with my carder(s) and blending board. Learning how to chain ply (3 ply) has made it possible to create the Ombre/Gradient effect.
This is the perfect hobby to keep me happily indoors until Spring!!
